Cognitive Development Training Program (CDTP)
The Cognitive Development Training Program (CDTP) is a substance and sexual
prevention program designed to foster self-esteem building, emotional intelligence, critical thinking and problem-solving skills among youth and adolescents in Liberia. The program is essential for Liberian youth, and adolescents given the increasing prevalence of
substance abuse, growing number’s ghettos and
massive availability of narcotics substances, including food items. Our training build youth resilience against
substance abuse which directly reduces the
probability for sexual abuse (SDG 3.5) promotes good health and contributes peace and security. Developed in 2021, our team has trained over five hundred youths and adolescents, impacting over five thousand youth and adolescents in total. Researchers attribute the growing rates of drug abuse among youth and adolescents to among many, the lack of sustainable drug prevention program, thus the CDTP is essential for bridging this gap and build youth resilience against substance abuse.
