Empowering Minds: Youth Trained to Resist Substance Abuse

In a powerful step toward safeguarding young people, VASSAA successfully concluded the first cycle of its Cognitive Development Training Program (CDTP). This initiative reached 87 students across three schools in Montserrado County, equipping them with critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and strategies to resist the lure of substance abuse. The program’s impact has already become evident through improved classroom engagement and peer leadership. Plans are underway to extend the program into more schools in Paynesville in the next academic term.
